Vegan Flaxseed 3-Seed Bread Recipe (for Bread Machine)


Vegan Flaxseed Bread

This bread is fragrant and wholesome, and so easy to make.  I adopted this recipe from the back of a bag of Bob’s Red Mill Flaxseed. Recently, improved volume with the addition of wheat gluten!

1-1/2 cups water

2T honey (use another sweetener if you don’t eat honey)

2T oil (I use canola)

3Cups bread flour (whole-wheat preferred)

1-1/2 t salt

1/3 cup whole flaxseed

2T sunflower seed kernels

1T poppy seeds

2t active dry yeast

1T Vital wheat gluten

Add ingredients to bread machine in the order specified by your bread machine manufacturer and select basic bread cycle. Just FYI, my Zojurushi calls for liquids first, then dry, making a well in the middle with yeast.

NB: Remember to keep an eye on the dough after kneading begins, to scrape down the pan and make sure it forms a ball. Also be prepared to add up to 1TB of water if it seems hard/dry.
